Awareness Week 2008

chicken 002small 1 2This year our Awareness Week was held from November 10 to November 15, so that it again coincided with National Philanthropy Day. Three events were planned for this week to raise the public awareness of the foundation and its work.  A BBQ at the Beausejour Consumers’ Coop, the Town vs RM Chicken Shoot at the Legion, and pancake breakfast at Zion Luther Church help get the word out.  The highlight had to be the second annual Chicken Shoot which brought a good crowd out for supper at the legion Friday night.  The RM had vowed revenge over last year’s stunning defeat behind Hockey Dubray.  However the end of the evening saw the RM taking home our famous Rubber Chicken Trophy to be displayed in their office for the year. We see the week as a success at raising our profile in the community and raising some funds also.  Proceeds for the week are:

Co-op BBQ                     $143.02

Legion Chicken Shoot      $276.00

Zion Pancake Breakfast   $223.00

The employees at the Provincial Government Building held their annual All Charities Event again this year, with the proceeds flowing to our foundation.  This saw a donation of $953.75.  Thank you to these community minded citizens for their support of our community over the years and our foundation this year.

We also saw private donation come in during this week, totaling $375.

Our second Awareness Week was a success and we will see you again next year.
